Activity Selection

Planning rewarding activities is an effective way to improve your mood. Being active increases our sense of pleasure and achievement in life and gives us opportunities to connect with other people in meaningful ways. Most importantly, behaving in line with our values (doing what matters most to us in life) provides us with a sense of purpose and direction.

This Activity Selection tool will help you identify meaningful activities that lift your mood.

Overview

Activity Selection is a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) worksheet. A common difficulty in depression is the client's withdrawal from activities which were previously rewarding. Behavioral activation aims to treat depression and low mood by encouraging clients to participate in activities again. This worksheet is designed to help them identify a hierarchy of achievable (or attemptable) activities.
