Positive Core Belief Evidence Record

Core beliefs are deeply rooted ideas that we hold about ourselves, other people, and the world around us. They can be positive or negative judgments and strongly influence how we think, feel, and behave.

Our core beliefs are not always accurate or helpful, but we tend to go about our lives believing they are true. Negative core beliefs can play an important role in many difficulties, including low self-esteem, depression, and anxiety.

One simple approach is to strengthen your positive core beliefs. You can do this by deliberately noticing and recording evidence that supports a positive belief that you want to develop.

Overview

The Positive Core Belief Evidence Record is designed to assist clients in consolidating positive core beliefs. Core beliefs influence information processing and memory recall, affecting how individuals interpret their experiences. Strengthening positive beliefs is believed to be particularly effective in helping individuals accept and recall positive life experiences, and to think more flexibly.
