Data deletion and retention

Psychology Tools acts as a data processor, meaning client data is stored and managed in accordance with your instructions as a therapist.

Deleting client data

You can delete client data at any time:

• Deleting a client removes their associated data from your account.
• This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Account closure and subscription status

If your subscription lapses or your account is closed:

• Your data will be retained for 30 days.
• After this period, all client data is permanently deleted.

This retention period allows you to recover access if your subscription is renewed within that time.

Your responsibilities

As the data controller, you are responsible for:

• Managing your client data appropriately.
• Ensuring your account remains in good standing if you wish to retain access to data.
• Exporting any data you wish to keep before closing your account or allowing your subscription to lapse.
