As we progress further into 2025, we're taking a moment to look back over the last year, and say a huge thank you to all our members.

It's been a busy year. Our resources have been used millions of times, supporting countless clients, clinicians, and teams all over the world. As always, we hope you find a moment to appreciate the impact you've made, and  we want to thank you for being part of the Psychology Tools community!

The most popular Psychology Tools of 2024

Here are the most downloaded materials of the year... have you tried them all?

5. New tools for understanding and practicing forgiveness

This year we released a new series building on our forgiveness resources. The handouts address what Forgiveness and Unforgiveness are, how they can be helpful or harmful, and How To Forgive.

These are great learning tools for anyone wanting to become more familiar with these concepts. They're designed to support anyone who has faced interpersonal hurt, like being neglected or harmed (whether intentionally or unintentionally).

4. Expansion of our Treatments That Work™ library

The Treatments That Work™ series offers a comprehensive collection of manuals and workbooks designed to support evidence-based psychological interventions. Each pair of books (Therapist/Clinician Guide and Workbook) provides step-by-step procedures grounded in research-backed principles, helping you to provide the best possible care for your clients.

Following the success of our partnership with Treatments That Work™ we're thrilled to have added a further 23 books to the library, for members on the Complete plan, including guides for:

  • Effective Weight Loss

  • Enhancing Sexuality

  • Managing Bipolar Disorder

  • Mastering Your Adult ADHD

  • Positive Affect Treatment For Depression And Anxiety

3. New fillable Client and Professional resources for all members

In October, we upgraded the Professional and Client versions of exercises and worksheets to include fillable, interactive elements. This means you no longer need to send separate fillable PDFs – just send the Client version, and clients can easily edit and save it using PDF viewing software.

These interactive resources are now available to all members, making it easier than ever to work online. They're especially useful during remote sessions, and for clients that prefer to complete resources online or don't have a printer.

We've had a lot of positive feedback about these new formats, so if you haven't used them yet, try them out!

2. Schema series – making schema therapy more accessible

Released throughout the year, our schema series breaks down the foundational ideas of schema therapy in an approachable and straightforward way, including resources on Coping Styles and Responses, Negative Parenting Styles, and Unmet Emotional Needs. The series also covers 18 of the most common early maladaptive schemas (EMS) with a range of problem-specific handouts. It's a great learning tool for anyone wanting to become more familiar with this approach. Each handout is designed to make schema therapy more accessible for clients, and help clinicians work more effectively with EMS. They're available to all members with active subscriptions – Basic, Advanced, or Complete.

1. Most downloaded in 2024: Values: Connecting To What Matters

Developed in collaboration with ACT expert and author Dr Jenna LeJeune, Values: Connecting To What Matters is a practical self-help guide and introduction to the cornerstones of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Aimed at helping people find, connect with, and take steps towards their values, it's perfect for clients who feel disconnected from what matters most to them. We've also released a free, abridged version for anyone to download: An Introduction to Values. We're thrilled you've used them so much!
